Warranty Information – etar.com
What is a Tyre Warranty?
A tyre warranty is a manufacturer’s promise to repair or replace a tyre that is found to be defective due to issues in materials or workmanship. It serves as a quality assurance guarantee for the customer.
Unlike general consumer products that typically come with a warranty period of 30 days to 1 year, tyres are built to withstand tough road conditions and extreme temperatures—hence, they usually come with a much longer warranty period, often ranging from 4 to 6 years, or until the tread reaches its legal minimum depth.
At etar.com, all tyres are covered under the respective manufacturer’s limited warranty, which includes coverage for conditions within the manufacturer’s control such as:
• Workmanship defects
• Material quality issues
Depending on the brand or tyre model, additional warranties may also apply. These can include:
• Trial periods
• Treadwear mileage guarantees
However, warranty coverage does not extend to issues caused by conditions outside the manufacturer’s control, such as:
• Poor tyre maintenance
• Damage from accidents or vandalism
• Driving on under-inflated or flat tyres
• Vehicle-related mechanical issues
For any warranty-related queries or claims, you may contact etar.com support or the authorized tyre dealer near your location.
Warranty Duration
Tyre warranties are valid for a set period from the date of purchase for replacement tyres, or from the date of vehicle delivery for new vehicles. This period typically ranges from 4 to 6 years, depending on the brand.
Warranty start date is determined by:
• Sales invoice for replacement tyres
• Vehicle registration certificate for factory-installed tyres
If these documents are not available, the manufacturing date (indicated by the DOT Tyre Identification Number (TIN) on the tyre’s sidewall) will be used to determine the warranty start date.
Warranty ends when:
• The tyre’s original tread depth is worn down to 2/32” (1.6 mm), where the tread becomes level with the treadwear indicator bars.
